When Daddy's away, we play all day!

James has been very, very, very busy with work lately, which means he has been traveling to Vegas a lot! While he's gone for about 4 days at a time, the boys and I play, play, play. It's kinda nice when Daddy is gone for a few days because I don't have to worry about having a clean house, or doing the dishes, or feel like I need to get ready for the day. It's pretty relaxing :)

While James was gone the past month traveling on and off we had a party. Lincoln got lots of attention from his momma while Winston took his many naps.

Lincoln also just turned 2 and a half! It's so crazy how fast these boys are growing up! So to document our 'playing while daddy is away,' i'm also documenting Lincoln at the young, crazy, energetic age of 2.5 years old.

Lincoln loves the bath. He loves to play with his dinosaurs and trains. He will stay in the bath for well over a half hour. It makes him so happy.

While daddy was away we had many lazy days of watching Train shows. Lincoln LOVES trains. If you ask him any question he'll say...train...choo choo...train tracks...conductor...thomas the train engine...all aboard..  He is constantly talking, thinking, watching and playing with trains.

One of lincoln's other favorite thing is to say prayers. He is always reminding us to say prayers. He is also very picky on who says the prayers. usually it's always daddy's or lincolns turn. This is Lincoln's prayer (yes, we are working on it).. (he folds his arms) "Grandpa, Grandma (yes, he prayers to his grandparents).. trains, friends, choo choo train tracks, AMEN". Seriously, that's it. It cracks me up. But we really are trying to teach him to say Heavenly Father first, but I think he's so use to us praying for our parents/grandparents that that is all he picks up in our prayers. ha

Lincoln is also a big fan of his bike. During Feb and March we just decided to bring his bike inside so he could ride it. He loves crashing into the walls and our feet (it's obviously not our favorite).

If you notice in most of these pictures, Lincoln's tongue is out. He is just like his daddy - when they are concentrating they have to stick their tongues out.

Lincoln also loves his dinosaurs.  While Daddy was away, we went to Target to pick up a few new dino friends.

Lincoln is a big fan of Winston. We have to remind him to be soft and not to scream around him though. Linc is always so concerned when Winston is crying or if he's sad. When linc notices Winn has gone to sleep, Linc quickly asks "where'd Winston go." He definatly notices when Winston isn't around.

Lincoln is such a good talker. Even though every other sentence is about trains, he picks up on things and sayings so quickly. I love that we can have full conversations with him. I love hearing him say new phrases each day. It scares me by how fast he can learn something. James and I are always careful with what we do and say around him because he picks things up so quick.

Winn also joined the party :)

Winn man is a champ at eating!! I love that I finally have a good eater!

We had olives for snacks. Lincoln loves to put them on his fingers to eat them

And, Lincoln loves, loves, loves popcorn. He'll get the pop corn machine out, the bowl and the popcorn seeds for me.

And after a hard day of playing...sleep :)
Lincoln sleeps in his twin bed and loves it. He sleeps so good in it too.
He still naps each day, 12-2 and then goes to bed at 8. He usually will go right to bed too. ah, to have a good sleep is amazing.

The boys love going to the park. The weather has finally turned Spring so we've been spending lots of time outside. It's been heaven!

We recently started a Rewards Chart with Lincoln. He LOVES it! He gets so motivated when stickers are involved. He gets different stickers for each category: Listens, Eats Well, Play Nice, Pick up toys. If he starts to act out i'll remind him that if he's good and makes good choices he can get a sticker..and wa la! He's so well behaved. And all i have to bribe him with are stickers!

Goodness, I cannot believe this kid! He melts my heart. He is such a good boy.

He's still drooling, but not like he use to :)

I've started potty training a little with Lincoln. He does GREAT when he is naked all day. I don't have to remind him to try to use the potty. He just knows when to go, and knows not to go potty on the floor. It's when I put undies on him. He thinks that once his dino undies are on, they are is diaper. So, maybe next month i'll go full force again. He does go a couple of times a day in the big potty though and he recognizes when he needs to go cuckies. So, we are getting there :)

This boys loves outside!

Lincoln is so quick to smile and to laugh. I love this big cheese he gives me. He is seriously, always happy! Although, lately he's been playing the 'drama queen' roll. If he get's offended or in trouble he'll slowly bow his head, fake whimper and make his eyes water. It's hilarious!

Lincoln also love rocks, mud, water and dirt. What boy doesn't?!

Looks like I need to get him a shovel and bucket. He's been using he's shoes for a shovel lately.

Every night when I put Lincoln to bed, we read stories, say prayers, I tuck him in, give him big hugs and kisses, makes sure he has all 4 of his bb's and that he has his binki in his hand while he sips his milk. I say, "nigh night Lincoln, you stay in bed. I love you, You're the best." He then says, with out fail, "nigh nigh mommy. love you." And then as I'm closing the door I say,"Muah" and he says back, "muah." I know it's a silly thing we do, but I love it. I love him. How could you not?!
