One Month Old

This week Winston turned One Month Old.
I hate how fast time is flying by.
He is growing like a champ, eating lots, and sleeping perfectly.
We have honestly been blessed with such a perfect baby.
I cannot believe how easy have 2 kids has been for us.
(I may have just jinxed it)
Winston is such an amazing baby and has made being his mom a breeze.
Winston is eating 2 and half to 3 ounces every 3 to 4 hours.
Since I have so little milk, we are having to supplement formula,
We are still trying to find a formula that is best for me.
He tolerates my milk soo well and doesn't spit up at all after he eats so I am trying to get my milk supply higher. I am on 9 herbal vitamins a day plus a prescription. I really hope to increase my milk so we don't have to do formula. I have actually really enjoyed breakfeeding this time around and I would like to be able to breastfeed/pump.
Winston only cries when he is hungry.
He'll fuss in the middle of his feeding when he is trying to poop, but once it's out, he's once again his happy self.
When Winston is tired, he'll let out a quick high pitched cry and then he'll fall asleep.
We are still trying to figure out which binki he likes best. The binki helps him fall to sleep, but sometime he likes a certain binki, but then sometimes he hates that binki.
I think i'm going to go buy another style of binki to see if we can get him 'hooked' on one.
(bless the binki!)
He wakes up around 8 in the morning, eats then stays awake until about 10 and goes down for his nap. He'll then wake up around noon for another feeding and stay up until 1ish then go back down for another nap. Then he'll sleep from 1-6 with a quick feeding in the middle. then he's awake for the remainder of the evening until he goes to bed around 9 or 10.
During the night he wakes up at 2 and at 6 to eat.
And thanks to bottles, James gets up with Winston every other night to feed him. It's so nice that we can count on a full nights rest every other night.

Winston smiled at his momma for the first time on September 13.
He will continue to smile here and there every once in a while.
My favorite is when he smiles right after he eats. It lets me know that he's truly satisfied and ready for sweet dreams.

Winston loves bath time. He has never cried while in the bath. He just sits back and relaxes.

The other day I accomplished Operation Cradle Cap.
No more cradle cap on my little dudes head anymore.

Winston is starting to lose his baby hair.
It makes me sad to see his beautiful dark hair fall out. He is starting to look like an old man - I love it

He is still wearing all his newborn clothes and is still so tiny.
A lot of outfits still drown him.
I love that he is still soo tiny!

He's still in size Newborn Diapers.

I have had lots of energy too. I feel like I have more energy than I have in my entire life.
I don't need 12 hours of sleep like I use to, and I don't need a nap during the day.
I'm in bed by 10:30 and I'm up by 7 or 8, depending on when the boys get up.

My hormones haven't been too out of wack either. I had the baby blues pretty bad with Lincoln, but this time around hasn't been too bad.
I had some melt downs the first week home, and of course I had a melt down when I was left at home with the boys by my self for the first time when James went to work. It also didn't help that 10 minutes after James left for work, Lincoln threw his one and only binki down the window well. Lincoln was a complete mess and was throwing the biggest fit and I was crying uncontrollably because I couldn't do anything about it. I called James and he suggested I get his fishing pole and fish it out. HA. Luckily sweet Winston had an extra binki to share with Lincoln for the day.

Lincoln has been really good with Winston.
Of course, Linc has his moments of being too rough but then again - he's a 2 year old.
Linc also calls Winston, WinstonS. It's super cute.
Whenever Winston is crying Linc will run to his crib and say, 'Winston's sad'
Linc also loves to give him hugs and kisses.
So as you can see, our first month with Winston has been wonderful!! We love him so much and love that he is part of our family. He has such a sweet, wonderful, gentle spirit.

Here are some pictures of Winston enjoying his first month of life.

I love Winston's long, dark eye lashes.
I also love his 'Wright nose'

Linc was giving Winstons his bb's...

..needless to say, I never leave those two alone in the same room :)

Happy One Month Winston!

  1. What cute boys! Since my girls were preemies to keep my milk supply in while I couldn't breast feed the lactation specialist had me pump every 3 hours for 15 minutes with a double electric pump. We ended up just buying an $80 one at Target and it works great! I've been able to straight breast feed both my girls. Hope that helps!
